        Old wounds are healed in a safe atmosphere.  Sessions  are relaxed and confidential, and goals are generated together at the first session.  Therapy is designed to suit your individual personality and problem.  Cognitive behavioral, family systems, solution-focused, and psychodynamic therapy is integrated with christian counseling principles at your request.  Your privacy is protected by HIPAA policy which you receive at the initial evaluation.

   Eating Disorders are treated with a multi-modal approach including referrals to a physician and nutritionist.  A no-diet approach is used to decrease deprivation thinking and obsession on food.  A healthy relationship with food is the goal thru refocusing self-talk on passions for living, healthy choices, and joy momement (vs. obsessive exercise). 

    Diets encourage dissociation, a detachment of feelings from thought.  Our culture tells women to trust someone's "diet plan" because we can't trust ourselves to know when we're hungry, and stop when we're full.  Diets also interrupt hunger cues, decrease metabolism, and increase obsession on foods (counting, comparing, etc.)

    You can maintain your normal body weight for your height using the non-deprivation approach principles.  Fifty percent of college females have an eating disorder due to the media focus on over-restriction, or the indulgence of food when we are "good."  You can let go of your avoidant behavior related to food groups and fear of attending social events.  Learn to let food Serve you rather than Control you....
